My Son Aged 40 Had A Recent PS A Result

My son aged 40 had a recent PS A result of 9.1. He had the test as there is a strong family history of prostate cancer (father, 4 great uncles and second cousin) so was recommended to have a test at 40. He had recently had blood in urine which was treated as UTI (approx 4 weeks ago) Would the infection have raised the levels this high or there a strong possibility that he has cancer too? He is awaiting a call from the hospita! for an urgent referral. Your comments would be appreciated.
