My Son Either Does Not Answer Your Question Or Tells

My son either does not answer your question or tells you an answer that seems believable. He is 41 years old and just tried to commit suicide, he has told me that he does not do drugs or alcohol, I went to see him in the hospital after not talking to him for 2 years and he told me he couldn't do it. Unfortunately, his brother committed suicide 19 years ago, after going through re-hab for drug addition (21 years old) and his Dad died at 63 and he was an alcoholic & liar & his Dad's brother was a liar.
Is there any help for him, could he change.
