My Son Fell Very Hard On His Upper Forearm On

My son fell very hard on his upper forearm on December 7th. He instantly bruised and swelled up. I took him to the hospital and had an xray. No fracture! He is still swollen and now under his skin is lumpy where his bruise is located under his elbow. I just noticed this tonight. Is this part of the healing process with a contusion?
