My Son Had His Tonsils Out 5 Days Ago As

My son had his tonsils out 5 days ago as well as had his adenoids removed and a tube in his left ear. They sent us home with Tylenol and codine. I have given t to him every four hours as needed but he wakes up screaming bloody murder saying his head hurts and crying. After giving him the medicine it goes away for about 30-45 minutes and it's back and he holds his head and screams. Should I take him back to the hospital? I don't know what to do??
