My Son Had His Tonsils Removed Last August. He Is

My son had his tonsils removed last August. He is still suffering from some pain and an occasional lump. Been back to his ENT several times and been scoped, nothing cancerous seen. Could he still be having some pain from his surgery? Could the pain be coming from scar tissue? It's mostly on the left side
