My Son Has 2 Small Cuts That He Got Last

My son has 2 small cuts that he got last night from rusty barbed wire....it is red, swollen, and hot to the touch. I am taking him to the doctor in the morning. should I take him to the ER tonight instead? I have been putting antibiotic cream on the cuts and giving him antibiotic's I had a home.
