My Son Has Been Taking Piriton For Approximately A Year

My son has been taking piriton for approximately a year daily, he has been having side effects to it I think, he is hyper, agitated and nervous and moody he needs piriton due to his asthma and hay fever should I take him off it for a few days to see if he changes, he is 8 in October
