My Son Has Cold Symptoms, His Temp Is Reading At

My son has cold symptoms, his temp is reading at 100, hoarse, mild cough,. My question is that he gets this pain, I believe in his ears, because he grabs at them right after a sneeze. Could it be an ear infection or something else. He is autistic and non verbal so I don't know how bed it hurts our where exactly. He just holds his ears and cries to me to help him.
