My Son Has Had Symptoms Of Asperger's All His Life

My son has had symptoms of Asperger's all his life but was never diagnosed. He was diagnosed with schizophrenia a year and a half ago and put on antipsychotics and anti depressants. He has a very negative affect and will sit for hours with his hand on his knees turned upward. He has been very fatigued for about 10 years and has been on and off antidepressants. He recently went off all of his medications again and soon after requested to go back to a mental hospital to get help and is presently in one in Spokane, WA. He sounds better over the phone, but I'm concerned they are treating him for the wrong thing. What should I do as his Mom?
