My Son Is 4 Years Old Today He Had 101.5

My son is 4 years old today he had 101.5 fever in morning 6 I clock I gave him crocin. At 11'o clock I went to the doctor. He suggested Meftal- p without fever also 3 times a day. I gave him mental-p at 2:30. Now he is sleeping. Have I done something wrong coz I think mental-p is given only at high fever
