My Son Is 8 Years Old ...he Came Home Last

My son is 8 years old ...he came home last week with a little red bump like thing by he's left eye ! I had ask him what happen ..he said a kid in his class hit by the with a wood chip , so the next day I notice the reddish type bump thing gotten bigger within size ...so today he came home with a bandage on it because he said it started bleeding ,..I notice today that it's bigger and more fatty looking and bloody ! What could it be ?!? At first I thought it was a small bubbly bloody bump.
