My Son Is A Gymnast And Injured The Top Part

My son is a gymnast and injured the top part of his tibia and got a small communuted fracture. It didn't;t swell that much or bruise that much. However, yesterday, his foot was bruised and a little swollen and his legs were different colors when he was upright. He is on crutches with no weight for 3 weeks. When his leg is elevated the legs are the same color. Is that anything to be worried about? He is taking herbal supplements to promote bone growth and putting herbal cream on it for the same reason.
