My Son Is Currently Taking Propranolol And Methimazole Recently Diagnosed

My son is currently taking propranolol and methimazole recently diagnosed with GD.
He has had a horrible cough for little over a wk and I want him to b able to get some relief and rest from the cough ... Can I get him promethazine to help ? Or what is something recommended??? Please... He is 12 on the 25 th of this month, now at 106lbs....
