My Son Received A Concussion And The Clinic Doctor Ordered

My son received a concussion and the clinic doctor ordered an x-ray which showed a C7 fracture. The clinic doctor could not see if that was an old injury or recent from the concussion, so he requested a CT scan of which we needed to go to emergency for. The result was an old fracture of which the radiologist said has healed and will not impede him in any way. The doctor is now requesting an MRI...will the MRI determine something?
