My Son Recently Had Surgery On His Spine. He Had

My son recently had surgery on his spine. He had abbesses around his lower spine, which they cut out and suctioned out. Also some of his spine was cut out. This was caused by an infection of mersa.He is alright now, but the doctors wanted him to do six weeks of I-v antibiotics, which he didn't do. he is taking orally some antobiotics. Do you think this will affect his recovery at all?
