My Son Who Is Now One Has Had Heart Surgery

My son who is now one has had heart surgery for a large VSD and coaractation of the aorta. His legs still go purple and quite mottled when cold. is this normal? I am worried that the repair might not have completely fixed his problem. I should mention that he has very fair skin and his veins show through on his head as well.
