My Sone Had His Wisdom Teeth Out A Week Ago

My sone had his wisdom teeth out a week ago today. Today they prescribed him clindamycin 300mg. I believe he is also fighting a sinus infection but have not gone to have that seen about since he cannot open his mouth very wide and is still experiencing pain from the oral surgery. Is there any chance that the clindamycin might help the sinus infection?
