My Spouse Has GERD And He Also Experiences Constant Drainage

My spouse has GERD and he also experiences constant drainage from his head and sinuses. He takes omeprazlole for his GERD and Claritin D for his allergy and or sinus problems. My question is, He is constantly clearing his throat. He says it feels like he can't get anything to come up when he coughs but that it feels like something is stuck in his throat. He loses his voice very easily and is constantly hoarse. Is it possible that he has polyps on his larynx and that's why he feels like something is stuck? or is the acid coming up in his throat and will not come up? and when he does cough something up, it is hard and a dark green color. It isn't like sputum when he does have a productive cough, it is more like a large piece of mucus. please help!!
