My Spouse Started With A Red (dime Size) Mark On

My spouse started with a red (dime size) mark on her left abdomen and now another one has appear on her right inner thigh. It does itch and warm to the touch. What can I put on it to calm it down and remove it? I tried an OTC cream label for psoriasis and it just irritated it further.
