My Teeth Ached Over The Weekend, Very Painful And I

My teeth ached over the weekend, very painful and I thought a tooth was infected because my gums were also swollen. When I went to the dentist today and she did xrays, she could not see any tooth that was abscessed. She told me she thought it was a sinus infection. Does this make sense?
