My Throat Just Started Hurting Today And When I Looked

My throat just started hurting today and when I looked at my throat it wasn't red, but there was a little red vein on my right tonsil. What's wrong?
A few weeks ago I had a tonsil stone on my left tonsil.
Would it be a good idea to see a doctor to see if I need to get my tonsils taken out? If so what kind of Doctor?
