My Throat Started To Hurt On Friday Evening. Normally When

My throat started to hurt on Friday evening. Normally when I get a sore throat, it turns into a cold. I do not have a cold or a fever. The throat does feel like there is more mucus than normal. I do not have a cough. I don't know if I should go to the walk in clinic (since today is Sunday) or wait it out. Nervous it could be strep, but don't have nausea or fever. Would I need a medication to get rid of this sore throat if it is a post nasal drip. Don't know what to do. I work in an assisted living and am afraid to of being contagious to the elderly residents. Thank you
