My Thumb Around Mcp Joint Is Hurt When I Tried

My thumb around mcp joint is hurt when i tried to move it and it's swelling, it was a result hit by a basket ball 7 years ago and it changed the shape, but it didnt hurt so i thought at that time it would be okay, and then 2 days ago it was hurt after i hit a wall, is this arthritis ? do i need surgery ? i'm 23 y.o
