My Thumb Has Been Hurting For Some Time (I Crochet

My thumb has been hurting for some time (I crochet a lot and read books) I think it's carpel tunnel but my dr sent me for xrays, I was given a copy I looked at them I hv 3 white spots throughout my hand two on my thumb and one on my pinky. What could they be?
