My Toes Turn Purple When Dangling Or Sitting On The

My toes turn purple when dangling or sitting on the toilet or legs are crossed. I sometimes have tingling in my legs. My fingers turn purple at times or bright red, warm and throbbing. My hands and feet are almost always cold. At times I have heart palpitations. I am a smoker and know I need to quit. what could be the cause of this?
