My Tongue Hurts To Eat And It's Sore And Abit

My tongue hurts to eat and it's sore and abit swollen, also the frenulum underneath is completely white and sore it feels as if it might rip, Iv recently had a bad cough too, the doctor said it was due to asthma. I don't know whether it may be related I hope you can help. Thanks
