My Tonsils Have Had What Look Like Sores On Them

My tonsils have had what look like sores on them and have been swollen for about a month. I thought it was some sort of infection, but antibiotics seemed to have no affect. It looks like white spots on my tonsils. Some of which I can scrape off, but again that seems to expose a sore. Could this be allergies? Or perhaps some sort of viral infection? My tongue is usually white too. I have recently purchased a tongue scraper. Could this be from dry mouth? I have vaped for a few months now, but quit about a week ago. Could that have caused the issue or made it worse? Overall, my tonsils seem to have improved slightly and the swelling has reduced over the past month, but there are definitely still sores/white spots and swelling. At times I can feel the swollen tonsil in my throat.
