Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My wife, 44 years old, had her thyroid removed 8 years ago and has been on synthroid for regulation. However she has never felt normal and has not been able to lose the 40 pounds that exploded on her within a few months of the surgery. She hardly eats but cannot lose the weight. In fact, most foods cause painful bloating and diarrhea.
Recent blood test showed elevated liver function and poor (very poor) Fe3 absorption.
Last week an abdominal ultrasound discovered a fatty liver and gall stones.
Any suggestions for discussion to take with us to the endocrinologist?
