My Wife (58 Y.o., 5'6", 135 Lbs) Has Always Had

My wife (58 y.o., 5'6", 135 lbs) has always had good BP, around 120/70, but recently she has seen an increase to the 150/90 range. Along with this her pulse rate has gone up to over 80 and she has started experiencing numbness in her leg and foot (left I believe). What are some issues causing this? She has an appointment with her FP next week.
