My Wife Fell Down About Dec10,2016 While We Were Traveling

My wife fell down about Dec10,2016 while we were traveling in India. Although Xrays in India reveled no fracture she has significant pain in the shoulder down and can not lift her hand or carry any weight. Recent MRI indicates focal fcncstration/full thickness tear.The overlying the anterior labrum does apear to be somewhat irregular with some linear and globular intermediate signal within, suggesting tear. We are going to see the doctor (Orthopedic). what kind of questions do i need to ask and can this be fixed without surgery ?
