My Wife Had An Infection In Her Left Ring Finger.

My wife had an infection in her left ring finger. She saw a Dr at a local clinic who lanced the area and it has been draining clear fluid. The swelling is still there which I would expect, but the finger is now very black and blue. Is this normal?
