My Wife Has An Eye Irritation Which Her Doctor Thinks

My wife has an eye irritation which her doctor thinks is an allergy. Could this be caused by an amaryllis which is just coming into flower? We have tried to think of what has changed in our house during the last day or two, and this is an obvious one.
