My Wife Has Been Taking Trazadone For About 6 Weeks

My wife has been taking trazadone for about 6 weeks for insomnia. Started out taking 100 mg at night and doctor took her up to 150 at night because she was not sleeping all the way through the night. Since she has been on it she has been feeling very sedated throughout the day. She accidentally forgot to take the 150 mg one night and the next day felt much better, not as sedated. She decided to go back to taking the 100 mg again the next night and has been on that for a week. Can she slowing go down from 100 to 75 to 50 etc over a period of time to get off them? She has 150 mg tabs now that can be cut with a pill cutter. thanks
