My Wife Has Flushed Out Several Living, Very Small Bugs

My wife has flushed out several living, very small bugs of some sort from her sinus (nose) using a saline soution. She has been having a terrible odor as well for a few months that I cannot smell. The creatures appear to be a larvae of some sort. She has been to the ER and doctors, had CT and MRI, but nothing has shown up. What can we do to get to the bottom of this oddity? It is freaking us both out.
