My Wife Has Winced In Pain After Sneezing. She Complains

My wife has winced in pain after sneezing. She complains that it hurts very sharply on the left side of abdomen, well below her ribs and tells me as well that it has nothing to do with women's problems. She was sick with a cold earlier this week, but seems to have recovered. Is this anything serious ?
