My Wife Started Taking Metformin On Saturday. The Dosage Was

My wife started taking Metformin on Saturday. The dosage was a 1000 milligrams. Since then she has been experiencing all of the side affects. We have been to the emergency room, and they just noticed her potassium was low. They prescribed a potassium supplement. Since then she decided to come off the Metformin because the side affects were just to much. What should we do if she is still experiencing them without being on the drug?
