Nurse/doctor Friends: About Every 3 To 6 Months My Right

Nurse/doctor friends: about every 3 to 6 months my right wrist gets this red circle (as pictured below) and becomes extremely painful to where I can’t hardly move it and I can’t pick anything up! The red area has a fever. It last about 3 to 5 days then stops hurting. The pain goes to my thumb, sometime down my arm. This has been happening for years. It’s hurt so bad before I’ve went to urgent care but they didn’t know what it could be. What could this be?
