OK. Are Prevalite And Cholestyramine For Oral Suspension The Same

OK. Are Prevalite and Cholestyramine for Oral Suspension the same drug? I was prescribed Prevalite last March (?) for chronic diarrhea and it seemed to make the diarrhea worse. I was prescribed Cholestyramine for my chronic diarrhea last week, and for the last 2 nights my diarrhea has been over the top again. When my doctor told me what he was prescribing, I asked if it was the same thing and was told no, but close. I do intend to discuss my situation with my provider as soon as I can. In the mean time, can you tell me if they are at least close enough to both cause diarrhea as a side effect?
