Occaisionally, I Get A Sore Scalp. It's Almost As Though

Occaisionally, I get a sore scalp. It's almost as though there is someone drawing a spiral on my head. It has tiny pockets spaced a part. It has a string attaching one to the other. And, the starting point has a screw-like hair attached to the scalp. The starting point attaches to a hair follicle and wraps the hair around itself. It's methodic. What is it?
