Off And On For Years I Have Felt Like Someone

Off and on for years I have felt like someone jammed a fist sized ball under my right ribcage. Sometimes it feels like my insides are going to pop through my ribcage and I have a tight burning sensation. Gallstones run in my family so I assumed that was the cause. I go for a ultrasound tomorrow to find out. If the test proves the cause is gallstones then what treatments are available other than surgery.
