Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Ok. I had a colonoscopy back in August of this year. The doctor removed three polups and one was big. so he wanted me to come back in three months to make sure everything was healing up ok inside. SO I was just there this morning and had to have another colonoscopy. oh the prep is the worst. Well anyway I was handed a paper when I came out--the doctor told me everything looked good and I do not have to come back now for three years. However the paper said and I am assuming he is talking about the polyps he removed three months ago---The firs one was 2mmto4mm in the ascending colon. the second one was 3mm in the hepatic flexure. the third one was 8mm in the distal sigmoid colon. This paper says I have mild diverticulosis of the sigmoid colon Grade 2 internal hemorrhoids-but the colon is otherwise normal. NOW I do not have to go back for three years. Does this sound good or bad to you. I am an elderly lady although my mind tells me otherwise but my body tells me yes.Lol just wondering about this. I got a little scared as my one sister had diverticulitis years ago and she had it for years but then she went in for surgery and she developed an infection-she got sepsis and she passed away. she had diverticulitis for years and was taking Metamucil all the time. just wondering what your thoughts were.
