One Week Ago I Had Severe Abdominal Cramping, Bloating, Followed

One week ago I had severe abdominal cramping, bloating, followed by diarrhea. There was also lots of pressure in my pelvic area. Three days of diarrhea led to dehydration and then stools became bloody. Went to the ER and they found a collapsed cyst on CT scan. Sent me home with a diagnosis of giardia. Two days later, I follow up with my primary physician. He ordered stool test and so far the lactoferrin csme back positive. What could be going on?
