Our 5 year old grandson has had issues with allergies, April & May especially ... but also standard allergies. These have continued on and led to inner ear infections, for which he has had 2rx's of Amox.,seems to clear & then right back to a spiked fever. Currently treating with Claritan, Flonaise & Tylenol as needed, but just not clearing the problem. We are seeing an ENT @ the end of the week, however he has complained of neck pain, along with "lightening" in my head and I am concerned that he may have the early stages of menengitis ..just read the symptoms in children and he has had 5 out of 10, but off and on, not steadily. Are blood tests done to diagnois Menengitis / white cell count? Can there be long term damage, hearing loss if he has had this in the early stages from the inner ear infection? Very concerned Grammy in NH, glad he now has specialist appt., so want to get this cleared and Jake comfortable. Would appreciate any input on the subject!!! Thanks, Donna
