Over The Past 10 Months I Have Increased Daily Dosage

Over the past 10 months I have increased daily dosage of Metropolol from 37.5mg to 100mg but I find that my pulse is still irregular. Is it safe to increase dosage and to what levels? What side effects should I look out for? YYYY@YYYY
