Pain In Lower Abdomen.. Feels Like Stabbing Contractions. Not Constant,

Pain in lower abdomen.. Feels like stabbing contractions. Not constant, but intermitent. 20 years ago I had a total hysterectomy, so it's not that. I have a physical every 6months or so...due to have 6 month check up in 2 weeks.
My only health issues are controlled by medication (high blood pressure, high cholesterol). What is this pain generating in a downward motion in the middle of my lower abdomen?
