Pain On Side Of Left Leg. Under The Skin Kinda

Pain on side of left leg. Under the skin kinda in mussels but near the surface , just below hip bone. Can't sit long or cross legs long. Laying on left side in bed causes pain. When I walk I get pain when weight on left leg, and is worse if carrying some weight. I use an elipictal trainer with little to no pain.
