Patient Is A Female 89 Yrs Old. Persistant Dry Couch

Patient is a female 89 yrs old. Persistant dry couch with clearing of throat. She seems like she has something stuck in her throat and trying to clear it. She coughs and gags until she spits up flem ot throws up flem. This has been going on for about 6 months and no answers from her doctor. She has been diagnosed with a destended arota, high blood pressure, and CHF. Any thoughts on what is going on so I can get her doctor to look for it istead of telling us it is nothing to worry about?
