Please Give Me Your Opinion On Acupuncture Of The Back

Please give me your opinion on acupuncture of the back on a patient who is on blood thinner (Coumadin). Do you believe in acupuncture? This would be done in a home setting not a hospital. The patient has already had a procedure where six needles were entered into the nerves after an MRI and electricity was supposed to kill the nerve endings. The results were negative and acupuncture was suggested by a friend. Supposedly this procedure could be done while on Coumadine. For the procedure I had at the local hospital I had to go off Coumadin for five days with a risk of stroke or heart attack. Please advise. Thank you
