Please help, I feel like a complete idiot.... and feel like I may have killed myself or drastically shortened or ruined my life with my own clumsy stupidity. I was eating some "Late July"(brand) - jalapeno lime chips, these ones right here: https://www.amazon.com/Late-July-Jalapeno-Tortilla-Chips/dp/B014BCPXTA [they're sorta like cool-ranch Doritos]
The bag was getting close to empty and was down to lots of little crumbs and Dust/spices/flavor powder, I was busy and distracted doing other things, and I just took a small handful and sorta threw it into my mouth, and I guess I was also inhaling at the same time and I'm pretty sure I inhaled a small chip crumb along with some of the dust/spice powders into my lungs which includes jalapeno pepper powder. I immediately started coughing and stuff but I don't think I was able to cough it back up.
It has now been 2 days and I still have some pain/discomfort in my lungs/chest (specifically, mostly in my lower left lung) that I think is the crumb/piece of chip stuck in my lung, I keep trying to cough it out or otherwise expel it but it's not working. I practically have no money, and no insurance, and no job right now thanks to the lockdowns, and I'm VERY reluctant to go to a hospital/emergency room not only because of how stupid and embarrassing this is but because I know how much even simple procedures can cost, and I'm sure I'll see one doctor who will charge me a boatload just to recommend me to a specialist who will then charge me again just to refer me to some OTHER surgeon or specialist that will ACTUALLY HELP ME, then they will charge me EVEN MORE for the ACTUAL PROCEDURE. I'm now completely depressed, freaking out, and considering just killing myself to save myself and everyone else the time, the money, and the trouble. PLEASE HELP. Am I freaking out about nothing? Will the chip eventually break down and be expelled naturally or will it just stay in there forever and possibly give me aspiration pneumonia or lung cancer?
I know there is some kind of medical device that they can stick down my lungs to see if there is something there, and that they could maybe remove it if they can find it. Does anyone have any information or experience with something like this? what is the name of that device and what kind of medical specialist would I need to see for that kind of procedure? Please let me know what kind of specialist I should see so I can at least maybe cut out having to pay some of the "middle men" doctors who will just refer me to said specialist.
Sorry for my post probably being a long, disorganized, hard to read mess, as I said, I'm freaking out, I can't even think straight right now, PLEASE HELP.
