Previously, I had hit the tip of my elbow on a wooden edge. It broke the skin and was bleeding, but because it did stop bleeding and was just kind of swollen and painful for awhile, i didn't go to the e.r. I also couldn't really afford to have them tell me it was superficial. That was 4 years ago. Sometimes when I lean on the affected elbow I experience intense pain. Its brief and usually goes away, but it seems when it happens once it happens quite often after. When I feel my elbow with my fingers, it seems to have a dent in it. Did I possibly fracture my bone and not know it? Is it possible to have exposed nerves that are causing the intense pain? I ask because it has just recently happened to my ankle bone. Can you dent a bone? Is it considered a fracture? Will it ever return to "normal"?
